# Quest Loot Share ## Description "Quest Loot Share" is a module for AzerothCore that makes quest item drops non-competitive within a group, similar to how personal/instanced loot works in later expansions and in FFXIV. When a creature drops an item needed for a quest, every group member who currently needs that quest gets their own copy of the item from the same corpse — instead of the item being a single shared drop that disappears once whoever loots the corpse first takes it. ## How it works AzerothCore already has a mechanism for this: an item flagged `ITEM_FLAG_MULTI_DROP` in `item_template` is treated as "free for all" and looting it doesn't consume the corpse's shared copy, so each qualifying player gets their own. That flag normally has to be set per item in the world DB. This module applies that same behavior to every quest item automatically, by hooking `OnPlayerBeforeFillQuestLootItem` (called once per group member as a corpse's quest loot is generated for them) and forcing `freeforall` on the item, with no DB changes required. ## Configuration See `conf/mod_quest_loot_share.conf.dist` (rename to `mod_quest_loot_share.conf` to use): ```ini QuestLootShare.Enable = 1 ``` ## Notes - Only affects items tied to an active quest (`needs_quest` loot entries) — regular loot rolls (need/greed/round robin/master loot) are untouched. - Solo play is unaffected either way, since there's no one to compete with.
